The Council of Elders is a permanent advisory body established under the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation.
The Council unites the chairmen (heads) Councils of Elders of regional organizations of indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation and acts on a voluntary basis.
The Council of Elders was established to promote the development of the social and social potential of the Association of Indigenous Small-numbered Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation and to achieve its goals, the Council solves the tasks of exchanging experience and strengthening interregional cooperation, preserving the traditions and continuity of generations of indigenous small-numbered peoples, preserving the identity, national and cultural heritage and languages of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation, as well as developing interaction with state bodies, public organizations and associations of indigenous small-numbered peoples.
